  • As a staff we have begun phasing the back squat
    2 days ago by ath_warehouse As a staff, we have begun phasing the back squat out of most of our programs in favor of the front squat. The most common fault we see when youth athletes begin a back squat is over extension through the lumbar spine without having the extension capacity or development to handle these positions. Most commonly we find athletes reporting lumbar joint discomfort. The front squat position in results in a lesser load on the body with similar muscular activation.  #strengthandconditioning
